A glimpse

-Favorite colors have always been blue and green.
-Despite my many cavities I've never understood why people don't like the dentist. I love it!
-I'm obsessed with journals.
-I paint and draw.
-When I was little, I would carry around graph paper and draw houses; I wanted to be an architect.
-I would move around my furniture in my room at least once a month....still do.
-I've always been a day dreamer. I didn't start paying attention in school until I was in 4th grade.
-I thought I was born in Africa.
-I was vegetarian for a while in Jr. High and High School.
-Always have been a little shy.
-Favorite movies as a child: "The Rescuers: Down Under," "The Lion King," "101 Dalmatians," and "Cats"...yes. the musical.
-I love cats.
-I would sing to my cats.
-My childhood imaginary friend was named Too Loo and she was from Africa. She wore a tiger-print toga and flew in a flying trolley. Her number was 444-4444.
-Make-believe was my favorite game.
-I love car and plane rides almost as much as I love the destination.
-One time, a mountain man came to my elementary school and then I decided I wanted to be a mountain man too. I just wouldn't kill any animals.
-I love old people. And young people. I just like people. And being outside.

I just had these random thoughts come to my mind and I thought I'd share! It's kinda mostly for me...I guess. But I think it's interesting to take a glimpse into people's lives and learn things I've never known.

Time to Ponder

Being done with school, I actually have time to think about things that aren't...academic. Here are my thoughts lately:

1) I'm really grateful for nature. And humanity. There's this path that I go for walks/runs/bike-rides on almost every morning and I love it when I'm just going my own way and say "Hi" to someone and they say something back or wave. There was this farmer out in his field and I smiled and waved and he just gave me the biggest, toothiest grin I've ever seen. And it made me so happy! And then today I was running with my dog and got talking with this older (super DANG fit) woman and our dogs played while we chatted. It was wonderful.

2) Remember my goal not to buy any clothes this year? It's been kind of hard because clothes can be a fun creative outlet, you know? But every time I go shopping with my friends, I'm just not tempted to buy anything anymore. Plus, I hate shopping. Love clothes...hate the acquiring of them. It's made me grateful for the clothes I already have. I have been blessed! Some people only have a shirt on their backs. I have more than I ever really need. I've learned that nobody really cares if you are wearing THE latest fashion or trendiest accessory. And if they do care...what-freaking-ever.

3) Chocolate and sweets are GOOD. I tried to only have sweets on the weekends. Guess how long that lasted? A whole of...5 hours. Here's the deal. It's YUMMY and makes me happy. As long as I'm being active and caring about my body then it's a-okay!

4) Biggest Loser makes me cry. EVERY EPISODE.

5) Read the book Unbroken, it's a true story about an olympian who fought in WWII, survived being stranded the Pacific ocean on a raft for 50 days and then survived the cruelty of the Japanese as POW. Very powerful and inspiring.

6) HAILEY HAUGEN (now Divine) is on my mind. Love is real, my friends. It's out there. For awhile, I didn't believe in true love. We'll talk about it later. But here's a video that proves that true love is all around us.

http://vimeo.com/40664860

...I couldn't figure out how to get the video on here. ://

7) Speaking of true love. I met this attractive man at church this week and he looks like every member of One Direction combined into one person. I'll let you know how it goes. :))

Just. Try and picture it for a second.

no place like HOME

What's new? oh. I'm just home in good old KAYSVILLE. And I couldn't be more happy with that. Best friends. Singles Ward with attraaaactive men. Family. Animals. Nature. Ability to walk around at night (or day) without fear of getting kidnapped....or worse (EXPELLED!! Just channelling my inner Hermione). Life is good, my friends.

All my shoes are in a row. For now. But at least they are home!
and photo-shopped with a rad effect, eh?

Simba is glad to have me back. One day I just might be a crazy cat lady.

Oh, you know. Katie, Meg and I just did a little off-roadin.' Probably illegal...just how we like it!

Shelby made some delicious tin-foil dinners. After about 20 minutes of trying to start a fire, Sadie came to the rescue. We are STILL mountain-women.

It's good to be back. Summer has already been amazing. :)

Happy (Birth?)Day

I decided to celebrate my life today. And for some reason everyone posted on my wall happy birthday. But....my birthday is in July. Hahahaha OH WAIT. My roommate dared me to change my birthday to today on Facebook so we could see how many people would write on my wall. And it was funny for the first couple "Happy Birthday" posts. But then I started to feel bad. I AM A LIAR. Do you know where liars go to? College. Hahaha! Just kidding. College just reminds me of that other place that liars go to. Catch my drift? Good. Anyways. (Disclaimer: College is getting better. Mostly because it's done. But it really has been a good year--though hard at times) I started to feel guilty and I wanted to tell people "Stop! It's all a lie! My birthday is really in July!" But then, maybe that would make a lot of parties involved feel stupid. So I just decided to comment on everyone's posts and tell them how much I love them and how amazing they are to me. Cuz it's true! Plus, they were all sincere and sweet to me, so I think they deserve something from me as well. I just wanna say, I have some amazing people that have been put in my life. There are people I love very much. It's cool to see the charity that everyone has for each other. And now I feel all high because of the love I feel from and have reciprocated for these people. People are a wonderful thing. :)

Also. I have learned that your birthday is very much a part of your identity. Well, obviously cuz it's on all of our official records and stuff. BUT. I just feel so wroooong being an April birthday. No offense. I was born to be a July birthday. I'm just...it fits. You know? I was BORN.

In other news. My finals are OVER. And I can't wait to move back to Kaysville and work at Academy Music and hang out with some of the most marvelous people in the world. I will definitely miss my friends in college. But...you know. Home is where the heart is.

Nature Walks

Isn't she cute?? I love Dania

Today, Dania and Kessa joined me on a hike up Rock Canyon. It was great to take a break from the computer and from studying (hahaha actually...I don't study) and get a breath of fresh air. I love the mountains. That's all.

Pictures. Finally.

So I decided to start using my camera to capture memories. Of my last week of the semester. I'm SO on top of it, guys.

Life has been exciting lately...what? And I though maybe I'd just put up pictures of my adventures instead of just talk about it.

A couple of weeks ago I went to the Festival of Colors for my FIRST TIME! So awesome. The humanity. The excitement. The wild-ness. And I was lucky to share it with ma best friends, Katie and Maddy....and Sam of course!

This week I got to go on a lady date with my wonderful friend, Shelby. We went to Muse and watched Shelby's  friend (and now mine!) in the band she's in, Brady Parks and the Indianns. Who are magnificent by the way. I strongly recommend listening to them.

We are people. And we like people, too.

And then we went to Sammy's and ate to our heart's content!

Sometimes Shayne and I are not appropriate. And we laugh about it. A lot. I'll tell you later.

And then I got to hide eggs for Easters! And took a picture of ma kitty, Simba.

Can you find the hidden Easter egg? It's tricky tricky!!

And I didn't want to rotate the pictures.

Happy 1 1/2 more weeks of school!!!

Almost There.

With 2 1/2 more weeks of school left, I've decided to try and live off of all my...ahem "food storage" that I have down here at college. Do you think I can make it?! Well. Considering that I made a delicious sandwich consisting of bread, peanut butter, and cucumbers, I'd say I'm off to a good start! Don't believe me?

PROOF.

Yummers!! Thumbs up for being creative, healthy, un-showered and make-up less.

And I have a bad case of Wanderlust lately. Maybe I like to lay in my bed at night and pretend it's a hammock and that the cars outside are really waves. Summer will be here soon...and so will CHINA!!
